Presentations from 2018 MCA/MHS Conference (Posted October 2019)

Presentations from the MCA/MHS conference held in Boston in November 2018 are now available for viewing. Topics include the MHS collection, American college medals, medallic Americana, the work of Victor David Brenner, so-called dollars, medal books, and the Medallic Art Company archives. Two panels discuss the art of the medal and reasons to collect medals.

Medal Courses at the 2019 ANA Summer Seminer (Posted May 2019)

Medals will be the focus of two courses at the 2019 ANA Summer Seminar. Dr. David Menchell and Neil Musante will teach the course "Medallic Washington: Images of Our First President in Numismatics" during the first session. Dr. Steve Nash and Dr. Lawrence Lee will teach the course "Indian Peace Medals" during the second session.

MCA Meeting at the 2019 NYINC (Posted January 2019)

The MCA will hold its 2019 winter meeting at the New York International Numismatic Convention (NYINC) in New York City. The meeting will take place at noon on Saturday, January 12, in the Julliard Room at the Grand Hyatt. Joel Iskowitz, designer of medals for the US Mint, will discuss his work in the talk "Narrative Designs: The Medallic Art of Joel Iskowitz".
